Second hand car is something you should know well when you will buy cheap cars. Even you aren’t an expert mechanic but there are easy tips can help you to know contition of second hand car better.

Let Check Identity

√      Chassis Number (17 digits) on the second hand car matches the Chassis Number on the Registration Certificate.

√      Engine number on the second hand car match the entry on the certificate and no tampering in this area, such as scrape marks or very new plates on the engine. you can cross-reference the model, colour and year of registration with the certificate of second hand car

Let Check Body

√      Let view second hand cars in the daylight so scratches and body faults will be visible.

√      Check the second hand cars for rust, paint bubbles, welding marks, paint overspray, stickers may hide etching, lighter coloured areas and body panels out of alignment. Body filler can be detected by using a small magnet.

√      Check similarity of all the locks of second hand car, thieves may change locks they have damaged it

√      Very low mileage second hand car  that is over 5 years old may have been left for long periods of time, which can affect engine performance. Second hand car with more miles on the clock that have been used and service regularily is more reliable.

Let Check Suspention

√      Push down on each corner of the second hand car, good suspension will bounces once.

√      If the wheels can be nudged, or if they move in or out, there could be serious damage to the CV joints or the bearings.

√      If tire wear is uneven, this is indicative of bad suspension. If the second hand car you are checking has new tires, you will have to exercise more caution and test the suspension thoroughly.

√        Avoid the completely black oil in engine oil dipstick and very low the oil level, second hand car may be suspected excessive oil consumption and  lack of maintenance.

√        The lower part of the engine and transmission of second hand car has to be dry,  otherwise is leaks

√        Turned off the engine and open the engine oil cap of second hand car and look inside through the oil filler hole, If there are a lot of black oil sludge inside the engine, may the engine oil hasn’t been changed for a long time, or the engine has been overheated, or poor quality oil was used.

√        If second hand car produce blue smoke at start-up may indicate engine problems. Black smoke means the engine consumes too much gas ( fuel injection problem )
